Our Ethos & Origin

Northeast Craftsmanship. Refined for Florida.

Our foundation was shaped by the rigorous standards of Connecticut and New York City, where architectural woodworking demands precision, restraint, and an exceptional command of material and detail.

Since 2012, our team has developed its craft through bespoke cabinetry, architectural millwork, and custom woodwork for distinguished residences throughout Greenwich, Fairfield County, and Manhattan.

In 2023, Modern Art Kitchen was established in Oldsmar, Florida, bringing that Northeast craftsmanship into a dedicated atelier and a new chapter of the practice.

Today, we combine the discipline of traditional fine woodworking with a contemporary understanding of Florida living. Every commission is considered in its entirety — from proportion, material, and joinery to hardware, finish, and installation — creating cabinetry and architectural millwork that feel integral to the space rather than simply placed within it.

From our first design conversation through fabrication and installation, we maintain a direct connection to the work. The result is cabinetry made with intention, built around the architecture, and crafted to become part of the home for years to come.

Craftsmanship in Tampa Bay

We bring that Northeastern experience into our Oldsmar workshop — combining fine craft with Florida-specific requirements: strong boxes built of minimum 3/4", moisture-resistant marine-grade cores where specified, and motion hardware from Blum, Salice, Hettich, and Häfele.

Founder-Led Accountability

Northeast Experience. Personally Led in Florida.

Every Modern Art Kitchen commission is personally guided by our founders, Vasilii Pavalovschii and Ana Tanase, bringing a direct level of involvement to the design, craftsmanship, and client experience.

Our professional foundation began in Connecticut and New York City in 2012, where our work was shaped by the standards of distinguished residences, architectural millwork, and bespoke woodworking.

In 2023, Modern Art Kitchen established its atelier in Oldsmar, Florida, bringing that experience to the Tampa Bay region and beyond.

Vasilii and Ana remain closely involved throughout each commission — from design development and shop drawings to material selection, fabrication, finishing, and installation.

Veneer selections are carefully reviewed for continuity and grain direction, while painted cabinetry is evaluated for a refined, consistent finish.

At the jobsite, critical details are personally reviewed to ensure the finished installation remains faithful to the design intent.

Our cabinetry is constructed with a focus on structural integrity, refined hardware, considered joinery, and long-term performance. Hardware and materials are selected according to the requirements of each project, with every component chosen to support the architecture, function, and character of the space.

For us, accountability is personal. The people who guide the design remain connected to the work through its completion — creating a level of continuity, care, and craftsmanship that defines the Modern Art Kitchen experience.
